How do trees "talk" to their neighbors?
eneath the forest floor, tiny fungal threads called mycelium wind between tree roots, connecting them into a hidden network. Through these threads, an older tree can send sugar to a struggling seedling, and even pass along signals when danger, like hungry insects, is near.
